Two months ago I was in Cuba. It's a great place if you like mojitos, old cars, music and cigars. I had a good time. Here are some pictures of the cars.
That's a long wheel base Fiat 126. Notice the little side window.
I didn't expect to see an Alfa 1750 Berlina. Fidel used to have one and others were owned by the police. This one has a diesel engine, which is another rarity.
I also stumbled upon a kind of coffee and cars meeting without the coffee, but with motor cycles. There was a Hot Rod and some Yank Tanks in good condition.
You can find the complete set of pictures !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

Awesome pictures, thanks for posting.
A slight correction: the "Fiat 126" cars are in fact "Polski Fiat 126" cars as the pictures clearly show - just for the record (NB: it would be surprising if Cuba had their hands on Western European Fiat 126's in the 70s, 80s or 90s).
EDIT: ...which is why it is mega-surprising why there is an Alfa right there.

Thank you.
Indeed, the yellow 126 doesn't hide its Polski roots. They make quite a contrast with the big American ships on wheels.
Here's a picture with Mr Castro and his Berlina:
Found on the alfabb.com forum. I wonder why the steering wheel is on the right. I think the picture is mirrored. The Alfa logo is a bit vague, but seems mirrored too.
Here's another thread about Cuban Berlinas .

Actually, I took a whopping amount of two cigars home. Haven't smoked them yet.

Everyone I know that goes to Cuba loves it. They all come back saying the same thing. No Americans makes their vacation better.

Of all the aspects of owning an older car that nobody ever mentions, the horrendous fumes are one of them.

I wonder if the owner/driver sprained their wrists when this happened...

On the other hand, not much gets scrapped. Keeping the old ones alive means that less new ones need to be produced.
Another aspect is safety...

Even better, it's from the early '70s.

Didn't notice that yet, but yes that would make it complete. That and a lady with a big hat tied down with a silk scarf on the passenger seat.

Wait, it's from the '70s? I didn't even notice.
